Would you like to learn how to create professional looking documents with images, tables and attractive font choices? How about designing effective and eye catching presentation slides which grab and keep peoples attention? Build some of the basic skills needed to use Word and PowerPoint effectively.

Additional information about this course

students who have been referred by the Recovery College are eligible for fee-remission, if they do not meet the standard WEA fee waivers. The course fees should be overridden at enrolment and costs recovered from project XG-41023-2. Please log student name and course ref. when charging cost code.

Course aim

An introduction to the basics of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to build professional looking documents and attention grabbing presentations.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Build up your keyboard skills in a fun way.
  • Enter, edit and format text.
  • Use tables to organise information.
  • Insert an image.
  • Use animations and transitions to enhance your presentations.

You must have a software package on your own laptop or desktop that has a word processor and presentation software.
