During this 4 week course with our highly experienced tutor you will gain skills and confidence to communicate with Deaf people in the community or in the work place. Be able to greet your self and sign a basic conversation covering every day words. An opportunity not to be missed.

Course aim

Gain skills and confidence to communicate with Deaf people using British Sign Language. Be able to introduce your self and sign a basic conversation covering every day words, for work or in the community.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • At the end of the course I will gain more understanding of those who are deaf
  • By the end of the course I will be able to demonstrate the alphabet through fingerspell.
  • Be the end of the course I will be able to Finger spell my full name and greet myself to a Deaf person
  • By the end of the course I will be able to sign information about my family
  • By the end of the course I will be able to recognise BSL numbers up to 31
