This two-hour taster session is ideal for anyone interested in taking a creative writing course with the WEA. You will be able to find out more about the subject and try some simple exercises designed to get you writing and develop your skills. The session will be relaxed and supportive and is suitable for beginners and those with previous writing experience.

Course aim

A two-hour taster session to introduce students to studying creative writing with the WEA.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Use the online platform Canvas to access information, course materials and support.
  • Produce a piece of creative writing in response to an exercise set by the tutor.
  • Share my writing with other people.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback on writing.
  • Identify at least one writing goal to pursue after the session.

This course is funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority but is also open to residents of other areas.
