The course will start with a summary of oil painting techniques and artistic fundamentals. We will be looking at colour harmony during the term, expanding our limited three colour palette to 6 and more. We will look at how to convey emotions through colour and mark making. Students will then begin building their own body of work by working on their own projects—demos and guidance from the tutor throughout.

A digital oil painting workshop that is taught digitally online through zoom. The course will start with a summary of oil painting techniques and artistic fundamentals. Then, students will be taught how to share their work via canvas digitally.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Demonstrate the use of a limited palette of oil colours in painting different light effects, and how to model form in the paint.
- Produce an oil painting for presentation on a digital platform such as Canvas
- Digitally photograph a piece of artwork
- Digitally enhance an image of your artwork by adjusting the colour and saturation.
- Upload and share artwork online to at least one platform
