Learn about bees, honey bees, beekeeping and the value of bees in the environment. This talk will cover fascinating facts about these remarkable insects. Empty hive equipment will be used to simulate some of the practical aspects of beekeeping.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Recognise different types of bees
  • Understand the importance of bees for the environment
  • Understand how bees use a hive

This course is funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority but is also open to residents of other areas.
