For more information and to book an appointment please call 0300 303 3464. The Employability Skills course is for people wishing to develop their skills in order to prepare themselves for work. On this course we will discuss the impact of mindset, explore how to deal with customers and develop problem solving skills. This course leads to a Level 1 Award in Employability Skills qualification.

Course aim

This course will help you to develop and the skills you need for the workplace and will support you as you apply for jobs.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Explain how your mindset can improve employability
  • Recognise customer needs
  • Demonstrate appropriate customer care
  • Name different types of problems encountered in the work place
  • Identify ways to solve problems at work

- What you need: You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone and a webcam so that you can use our video learning platform, Zoom. If you’d like to understand more Zoom please visit: http://bit.ly/ZoomSpec - You will also need access to the internet outside of your sessions. You could do this using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or a desktop computer (at home or through a library etc.). - You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas. This course is funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority but is also open to residents of other areas.
