Meet with like minded people and discover the trend for upcycling and reusing to make Christmas decorations and gifts. The four classroom sessions will enable you to make Christmas gnomes, snowmen and bauble decorations. The tutor will share many more ideas that you can try at home and share with the class. This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland

Course aim

Four classroom sessions to create something fun and exciting for Christmas using materials we already have. Make Christmas gnomes or snowman, recycled fabric trees decorations and revamp old Christmas baubles by adding new bows & decoration

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • be able to select different suitable recycled materials to create various different individual projects using wool, pompoms, fabrics, felt, glue, glitter and paper
  • select different upcycling techniques to make beautiful projects in class and at home.
  • learn different ideas and techniques to be resourceful and not wasteful of materials and equipment
  • respect and support each others personal space within the classroom and participate in discussions
  • follow all health and safety requirements when working with sharp or hazardous materials

There will be a selection of upcycled materials to use. You can also bring and use your own or donate to the group.
