In this classroom session you will wire twigs together to construct the base of your seasonal autumn wreath. You will add fresh greenery and use recycled flowers and ribbons or dried oranges and cinnamon sticks to decorate and give it a lovely scent. You can also choose a Halloween theme if you prefer. You will learn the importance of tone and texture and the correct balance to create a professional finished wreath. This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland

Course aim

This practical classroom session will enable you to create a beautiful autumn door wreath using recycled flowers ribbons twigs and greenery perfect for your home

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • know how to wire and wrap twigs and foliage to create a base for a wreath
  • know how to add detail and decoration to your wreath
  • learn about spacing ,tone, texture and balance of your arrangement and be able to put this into practice on other projects
  • respect each others personal space, ideas and designs
  • follow all health and safety regulations when using sharp materials and equipment

Basic materials will be provided but you could bring your own supplies or share them with the class. A list will be provided nearer the time. Please bring wire cutters and scissors, though we do have some to share in the class

This course is funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority but is also open to residents of other areas.
