This introductory course is for people wishing to develop their skills in order to prepare themselves for work. This course leads to a Level 1 Award in Employability Skills course.

Course aim

This course will help you to recognise and develop the skills you need for the workplace. This course will support you for accredited courses and help you gain confidence to step into work.

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • List your Skills and Achievements.
  • Recognise the transferable skills and qualities.
  • Demonstrate appropriate customer care
  • Understand why following instructions is important
  • Identify ways to solve problems at work

- What you need: You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone and a webcam, Zoom. - A personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas.

This course is funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority but is also open to residents of other areas.

  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
