Working in Early Years - (Free online taster)

The taster course will focus on the Early Years Foundation stage curriculum and share strategies and activities that promote learning and development for the under 5's. it will explain the role of the Early Years practitioner and will explore recent initiatives in Early Years development. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions about the careers in childcare such as home based childminding, working in a preschool or nursery. The pathway for early years qualifications that the WEA offer will be shared with the group.

This online taster is free to London residents who may be considering working in an Early Years setting (under 5's). Attendance on this taster will lead onto the Level 1 and 2 Early Years courses due to start in September 2022. Please do enrol early as places on this taster will fill very quickly. Course aim

This short taster is beneficial to parents and carers of children under 5 and all those who are considering working in an under 5's setting,looking at various opportunities for working with children in the Early Years.

  • Understand how children learn through play and the role and responsibilities of those who work and care for children under 5
