To help you to develop an understanding of the needs of disabled people, empowering them to make choices and to live full, rewarding and independent lives.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners
  • You will need your own personal email address so that you’re able to log in to the WEA’s digital learning platform: WEA Canvas.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • 1. Describe why it is important to work in a way that promotes person-centred values and how to put this into practice.
  • Examine the Social model of disability and describe its potential effect on attitudes
  • Identify 2 dos and 2 don’ts with regards to moving and handling practice.
  • Explain the importance of privacy and dignity in care
