Neurological disorders prevent the development of areas of the brain which controls movement as well as sensory perceptions and psychological disorders effects thoughts, behaviours and emotions. This course will increase learner’s knowledge of the differences between the disorders, with aims of identifying the impact of these disorders, complications with introduction into the importance of diagnosis.

Course aim
This course is for learners whom have a general interest in special needs and disabilities and would like to further their knowledge of intellectual disorders, covering both neurological and psychological conditions.

- Understand the term special educational needs and disabilities.
- Awareness of the primary concept of neurodevelopment disorders and neurocognitive processes.
- The impact of various forms of psychological learning disorders.
- Identify various support strategies specific to to some disorders.
- Confidence in own understanding of neurocognitive disabilities and the importance of diagnosis.
