This short course will help you prepare for a level 3 qualification to work in a support role in schools, for example working as a Teaching Assistant. The course will support you in understanding the study skills needed for a level 3 qualification, such as time management, referencing and help you in creating learning tools to demonstrate your knowledge. It will help you to analyse and evaluate level 3 tasks effectively. This qualification can enable you to progress on to the CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning certification which is awarded by the most recognised awarding body for the care and education sectors.

  • This is an advanced course for students with experience and skills in this subject

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • To be able to successfully allocate time appropriately and manage change that affects time allocation.
  • To be able to reference sources appropriately and understand the need to reference sources when presenting research.
  • To understand what is meant by critical reading and be able to summarise, analyse evaluate and reflect on given texts.
  • To create and deliver a presentation on a chosen topic related to support work in schools.
