This course, Understanding Autism, introduces the autism spectrum (a description of the fact that whilst all individuals with autism share some core characteristics, they also have their own unique profile of strengths and weaknesses), how it is experienced by different individuals and families, and why it is a global concern. This course explains how ideas about autism have evolved and explores diagnosis, causes, intervention and life-span development.

This Understanding Autism Course provides essential information on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder and associated conditions. It examines the signs and characteristics of autism, as well as offering strategies and approaches to our participants.
