Great Spanish Artists

Ref: C2422830

The history of Spanish art is usually dominated by half-a-dozen names - Velasquez, Zubaran, Murillo, Goya, Picasso and Dali. Their great work will be studied alongside the work of the artists who are "hidden from history", which inevitably includes many women artists. Examples of art and "craft" from the medieval period to the present day will be included on the course and the influence of religion on art and architecture will be illustrated. Frequently paintings are linked with musical creations - operas, ballets - and there will be opportunities to enjoy the music during the sessions.

Course aim
