Our digital courses are practical 'hands on' courses in supportive and relaxed classes to help build confidence and skills to use digital in everyday life to perform digital tasks. For example; finding services, getting the best value, finding work or developing your knowledge of and involvement in an area of interest. Courses focus on using devices, applications and online services through individual work and group tasks, projects or research. The classes will support you to describe online safety issues about your personal information and your tutor will help develop strategies to perform key actions to keep yourself safe and where to get help to protect yourself and your devices.

Course aim

Build up your confidence and skills in using digital devices and performing digital tasks. Understand about the importance of online safety and security and your digital footprint.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Confidently use digital devices and complete simple digital tasks by yourself.
  • Use simple features of your device / digital skills to help with finding services, getting the best value, finding work or developing your knowledge of and involvement in an area of interest.
  • Describe online safety risks and rules to stay safe online. Be aware which measures you can take to protect your confidential information and activity online from fraud and abuse.
  • Practise the skills and knowledge gained to access online services and explore the use of other hardware and software.
  • Put your digital skills into practice with a short group project or outcome based task.

Bring your own device (BYOD) computer, tablet or phone - with access to the internet - minimum requirement Wifi/4G at a reasonable speed to support video calling / and data. Students will require their own email address and must bring log-in details and passwords. Paper and pen.

This course is funded by the Greater London Combined Authority but is also open to residents of other areas.

  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2021
  • You declare that the address you provide is correct and that you will provide evidence of this and your eligibility to live and work in the UK
