The course will highlight the main political and social themes of Britain in the 1970s and its changing role in the world. It will also explore how Britain's membership of the EEC affected Britain's economy and its relationship with the USA. Finally the course will highlight the main features of the Watergate Scandal and how this affected USA's foreign policy

Course aim

The course will outline the main social and political developments in Britain in the 1970s. The course will also explore other world issues in relation to USA's political issues in the 1970s

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • An understanding of the main political developments in Britain in the 1970s
  • An understanding the impact of Britain's entry into the Common Market
  • An understanding of President Nixon's foreign policy and the Watergate Scandal
  • An understanding of the the main feature of social life and the Arts in the 1970s
