The Bayeux Tapestry

Ref: C2347169

The Bayeux Tapestry is one of the most famous historical artefacts in the world, but have you ever wondered how the tapestry came to be made? Over these two sessions we will investigate the history of this famous artefact and look at its significance as a record of life at the time that it was made. During our investigation we will also be able to look at the history of the events depicted in the piece and at the way that the representation of events gives us information about how people lived nearly 1,000 years ago. We will also look at the symbolism of different images in the tapestry and how these images hint at the real intention of the makers of this miraculous remnant of a previous age. So, why not come along and discover more about one of the most famous periods in history through looking at one of the most famous artefacts.
