The course focusses on observational drawing. Students will engage in a variety of portrait drawing exercises. Students can use their own drawing mediums of choice.
Course aim
The aim of this course is to introduce and start to develop the many possibilities of portrait drawing.

- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Demonstrate confidence in the medium of drawing.
- Develop drawings.
- Select and research subject matter making use of course experiences.
- Generate preliminary work in sketchbooks.
- Create a portfolio of portrait work.
What else do I need to know?
- Any drawing materials you may have already, pencils, eraser, sharpener, ruler, and cartridge paper/sketchbook. Tutor will advise during the course. - A small mirror, on a stand preferably, would be useful for an introduction to self portraiture..
