To develop and maintain the skills needed to live a full and enquiring life in Britain today. To gain confidence and interact with a computer, tablet or mobile phone. The course is about enjoying learning in a welcoming atmosphere, promoting self-esteem and gaining the confidence to work independently with no pressure in a small class.

Course aim

Enjoy learning to research and write through a device i.e. computer/laptop, tablet or mobile phone and build confidence in using these types of devices.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify three ways to stay safe using electronic communication.
  • Write a review detailing good service in a restaurant or a shop.
  • Research a product and prepare a presentation on its advantages and disadvantages.
  • Explain your consumer rights when returning a faulty garment when it was bought from a shop, when it was bought from an online retailer, when it was bought from an online auction. Explain the principle difference between terms and rights for each of these instances.
  • Describe three benefits and three disadvantages of the decline in the use of cash in day to day living. Summarise your deduction drawn from your research.
