The course is about enjoying learning in a welcoming atmosphere, promoting self-esteem and gaining the confidence to work independently with no pressure in a small class.
Course aim
Enjoy learning to research and write through a device i.e. computer/laptop, tablet or mobile phone and build confidence in using these types of devices.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify three ways to stay safe using electronic communication.
- Write a review detailing good service in a restaurant or a shop.
- Research a product and prepare a presentation on its advantages and disadvantages.
- Explain your consumer rights when returning a faulty garment when it was bought from a shop, when it was bought from an online retailer, when it was bought from an online auction. Explain the principle difference between terms and rights for each of these instances.
- Describe three benefits and three disadvantages of the decline in the use of cash in day to day living. Summarise your deduction drawn from your research.
What else do I need to know?
The WEA will supply laptops, extension leads, headphones. Students may bring their own laptops or devices.
