This friendly, online class (taught by published poet and fiction writer, Deborah Tyler-Bennett) explores how to make the most of your writing, using exercises in both poetry and prose. So come along, have a go at writing alongside like minded people, and endeavour to make your written work the best it can be.
Course aim
This course allows creative writers at all stages to make the most of their written work, making this the best it can be using exercises in both poetry and prose.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
- New students will learn as much from their fellow, more practised writers as from the Tutor.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- This course will enable you to identify at least one strength in your written prose work.
- The course will also enable you to analyse an area of improvement in your poetic work - e.g. verse making skills.
- During the course you will be able to represent editing skills using note making techniques.
- You will also be able to list at least three key skills needed for polishing and crafting drafts of work.
- If so wishing, this course will suggest tasks that will enable you to make the most of your writer's notebook
What else do I need to know?
Pen, paper, folder and a writer's notebook, whatever form, paper or digital, this may take.
