Come and learn how to hand embroider a range of stitches from A-Z. We will work through the basic stitches over the 12 sessions and complete a range of finished samples or one sample with the letters A-Z with these new skills. The basic stitches covered will include; running stitch, back stitch, blanket stitch, buttonhole stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch, french knots and how to embellish these stitches further.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
- Please note that this course requires you to have a stable internet connection and working microphone and webcam to participate
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Recall how to sew a variety of stitches
- Create a sampler with the stitches from A-Z
- Combine chain stitch, stem stitch and other outline stitches
- Experiment with french knots and discover where these can work effectively
- Extend learning further by exploring some filling stitches and combining these in a design of your own or from choosing a template provided.

Equipment required: Embroidery hoop Embroidery threads Needles Fabric/old clothes or tea towels with no stretch, cotton or polycotton is best. Ruler Paper/pencil/pens Fabric markers Needle threader (optional) Thimble (optional) Print outs from Canvas
