In this course we will look into the growing trend of visible mending and what importance it has on the fashion industry and the environment. We will also consider the mindfulness of the process of a slower paced craft. Added to this will be some practical work of the visible mending techniques. This course requires you to have a stable internet connection and working microphone and webcam.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
- In addition to the list of equipment you need to provide is bondaweb and interfacing Please note that this course requires you to have a stable internet connection and working microphone and webcam to participate
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify designers who use visible mending techniques and discuss in session 2 and 3
- Interpret the visible mending techniques to inspire your own work and share your ideas with the tutor and class through discussion and practical work
- Design and create some visible mending samples throughout the course
- Produce an upcycled item with patches/stitches from an existing article to share and evaluate throughout the course with the tutor

Embroidery hoop & threads Needles Fabric/old clothes or tea towels (anything you want to sew on!) Ruler (to draw straight lines or various shapes) Paper/pencil/pens Fabric markers (tailors chalk/pens) Needle threader (optional) Thimble (optional)
