Course Description:Come and learn how to hand embroider a range of floral designs whilst using a variation of hand embroidery stitches. We will work through the basic stitches over the 12 sessions and complete a range of finished samples with these new skills. The basic stitches covered will include; running stitch, back stitch, blanket stitch, buttonhole stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch, french knots and how to embellish these stitches further. This course requires you to have a stable internet connection and working microphone and webcam.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

- Please note that this course requires you to have a stable internet connection and working microphone and webcam to participate
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Recall how to sew a running, back stitch and seed stitch and experiment with possible variations of these stitches to create stems and wreath outlines
- Create a small item from felt combining the blanket stitch and buttonhole stitch
- Combine chain stitch, stem stitch and other outline stitches to produce a sample using different shapes as templates to sew around
- Experiment with french knots and discover where these can work effectively in floral designs
- Extend learning further by exploring some filling stitches and combining these in a floral design of your own or from choosing a template provided.
