The 19th century boat lift on Belgium's Canal du Centre is 'twinned' with England's Trent and Mersey Canal. Using the French language Alastair Clark will take you through his journey to the centre of Belgium.

Course aim

In this single session we will follow the journey that Alastair Clark took, by bicycle, to the UNESCO World Heritage site on Begium's Canal du Centre.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners
  • A basic of understanding of French is necessary

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Locate the Canal du Centre de la Belgique on a map of the country
  • Use French language names for key locations in Belgium
  • Describe in French the boat lift on the Canal du Centre
  • Describe in French your own plans for a journey or holiday
