Leicester Records Office - Day School Workshop

Ref: C2346985

This day-school seeks to increase student confidence in researching original sources in a records office. It will give opportunity to search and use a range of documents helpful in family and local historical research. Students will work in pairs in the morning following a guided process to locate and use a range of historical documents including newspapers, parish records, directories, log books, and poll books. The afternoon will be for your own research mentored by the tutor and supported by the search room staff. Even if you do not have ancestors from Leicestershire this day-school will provide you with an understanding of what can be found and how to locate and use in a records office or archives collection.
