This is a six week activity based course which aims to develop money management skills. We will look at budgeting; saving and spending; bank accounts; pay, tax and national insurance; bills and shopping; credit, borrowing and credit scores plus compiling a personal action plan.
Course aim
To help students improve their relationship with money and develop practical financial management skills.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- To identify at least 3 components of financial responsibility and self-assess your current relationship and capability with money.
- Describe at least 2 new ways to positively manage your money.
- Describe 3 consequences of long term debt and ‘easy money’.
- Identify at least 2 ways to avoid getting into debt and 2 strategies to manage existing debt.
- Create an action plan for hopes and aspirations and to plan next steps
What else do I need to know?
No prior knowledge is required, other than participants having used money. All course materials will be provided.
