Improve your communication skills in French. Increase your vocabulary and knowledge regarding how to speak about present, future and past events in daily life. Gain in confidence in everyday situations e.g. when on trips or stays in France or in a French speaking country. The outline of the course will be discussed with students at the first session.
Course aim
Develop further your knowledge in the French language in a friendly environment. Express yourself with more confidence in a range of everyday situations, using present, past or future tenses. You will also continue exploring French culture.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Give a short prepared talk, express opinions and answer simple questions in French, eg explain what is your favourite dish.
- Recognise the differences between past, present and future events in a range of spoken material, eg explaining what happened or commenting on a meal.
- Identify the differences between past, present and future events in a range of written texts, eg holiday plans or reporting a problem.
- Write a short text on a familiar topic, adapting the language which I have already learnt, eg. enquiring about a cottage to rent.
- Begin to use adequately present, past and future tenses of simple verbs and consolidate the French pronunciation of familiar words.
What else do I need to know?
Nothing special, just bring pen and paper.
