This session will focus on a selection of walks in the Alpes-de-Haut-Provence departement in France. We will look at the range of landscapes and historical settings which can be visited on walks.
Course aim
This single session course will run in English and offer an introduction to the potential that Provence offers to walkers seeking either gentle local walks or more adventurous mountain experiences.

- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- locate the departement Alpes-Hautes-Provence on a map of France
- describe the range of landscapes and waterscapes that provide the backdrop to walks in the departement
- identify the source of maps and walking guides to help to plan walking holidays
- describe the waymarking and location conventions on walking routes in Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence.
What else do I need to know?
Nothing required but if you have local maps for this area you may wish to have them to hand.
