An Introduction to Eco Dyeing

This course will introduce you to eco-dyeing. Use store cupboard ingredients to colour your own fabrics as well as plant matter from your garden.

Learn how to colour fabric using products from your store cupboard and garden

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Produce your own naturally dyed fabrics or yarns
  • Discover and discuss suitable dyestuff for extracting colour

You will need: items from your store cupboard such as tea, coffee, turmeric, paprika, tomatoes, onion skins; and from your garden - leaves, twigs, seeds, berries, flower heads, whatever is in season; plain white natural fabrics - cotton, linen, silk; an old pan
