Women coping with Change: discover practical ways to rebuild confidence

Ref: C2346199

Coping with changes in our lives, or what’s happening in our community is never easy, but in this short course we will explore some very practical ways you can (re)build confidence and learn how to manage some of the more negative effects that recent events have had on our well-being and ordinary everyday activities. So, do join us for some lively discussion in a safe, women only space, as we discover the reasons we have for finding coping difficult, but then how to build on your strengths to be OK and regain a positive sense of self and identity. We will also look at how to plan active changes of your own, ready for when you feel more confidently back in control in this 'new normal' way of life! If you enjoy this 'taster' course and would like to continue to explore these ideas and discover more ways to make practical, positive changes in your life, there will be a further course: Confidence Building for Women, at the Nottingham Women’s Centre, starting early November.

Course aim

In this short, women only course, we will explore practical ways to rebuild confidence to cope better with the impact that recent changes have had on our well-being and everyday lives and how to make positive plans for the ‘new’ everyday life!

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • This course will be appropriate and useful whatever your situation or abilities to cope under normal circumstances. Women only

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Explore reasons for finding it difficult to cope with some of the effects of change particularly on our lives as women
  • Identify my own strengths and experiences of ‘coping’ as a basis for rebuilding confidence and a sense of well-being
  • Explain how to be OK and how to draw on a range of practical ways to actively improve ways of confidently managing the new 'normal' everyday life
  • Begin to make plans for creating my own changes

How will I be taught?

What kind of feedback can I expect?

What else do I need to know?

You do not need to bring anything as all information and materials will be provided in class and also available for you to access on-line during and after the course
