Life drawing is the artistic tradition of drawing the body using a live model. It can be an important way for artists to hone their skills in the ways of seeing and looking. You will learn techniques and methods, which will aid anatomically correct proportions, develop colour mixing and work in a variety of ways. We will look at other artist work to inspire a range of approaches using wet and dry media. Develop your skills in figurative work on this course and take advantage of the opportunity to studying the human form with like minded people.

Course aim

This class gives you the opportunity to study the figure using a live model. we will explore wet and dry media, expand your techniques and creativity support from an experienced tutor. Please note there will be nudity involved in each session

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Describe and demonstrate how to work in a safe studio environment.
  • Use a minimum of two different medium (wet and Dry)
  • Use a minimum of two different techniques
  • Briefly outline the skills and style of another artist.
  • Develop and identify my personal skills and style.

A range of materials will be provided but you will be encouraged to build a selection of media as you progress. Sketch book would be useful.
