Textile crafts covers a multitude of disciplines such as knitting, stitching and embroidery, felt making, weaving, appliqué and so on. All these techniques can be applied to decorative art, applied arts and upholstery, garment making, accessories; the list goes on and on. Come and join like-minded people to explore different methods and techniques to make beautiful accessories and decorative items to adorn your home. We will start by making felted pictured cushion covers with embellishments, employing a variety of textile techniques.

Course aim

To design and make beautiful, unique cushion cover or handbag, using a combination of felt-making and stitching embellishment techniques. The final outcome can be negotiated according to personal preference. we will share many different making ideas.

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Describe and use two different textile making methods
  • Describe and use two different styles of embellishment
  • Describe and demonstrate how to work safely in the studio environment
  • Acquire and give examples of the correct terminology used in textiles
  • Share ideas with others
