Do you wish to improve your writing and reading skills for work and life? This online course will give you the opportunity to build on your current writing skills and knowledge. You will identify what helps people to "say what they mean" in a variety of situations, especially in the workplace. Throughout the course you will be able to practice your writing and receive constructive feedback from the tutor.
Course aim
The aim of this course is to support you with "saying what you mean" in any of your written work, specifically when applying for jobs, and whilst in employment.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify the importance of spelling words correctly, and practice improving these in all written work.
- Identify what homophones are, and use at least 10 correctly in written work.
- Use adjectives to add meaning to written work, when writing at least 3 different documents.
- Produce correctly structured emails and letters, to at least 3 different scenarios.
- Proof read and edit written work, on at least 3 occasions.
What else do I need to know?
This is an online course therefore you will need use of a laptop with zoom, together with access to WEA's Canvas to use the resources during each session. Ideally you need to be able to use Word.
