A course designed to assist and to give confidence to ESOL learners to progress from the course to find Employment or to go into Further Education and also to develop their employment prospects and confidence.

This course is for the residents of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough only.

Course aim

To support students in successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, and preparing students for further study.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners
  • This course is for beginners and improvers
  • Before you can join this course you will need to talk to a member of staff and do an initial assessment to make sure the course is right for you. Please call the Student Support Team on 0300 303 3464
  • To complete this course you will be required to complete a placement. This will be discussed with you at initial assessment.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • You will be able to make statements of fact related to your employment history and the skills and responsibilities your job requires.
  • You will be able to take part in formal interactions such as job interviews with reasonable confidence.
  • You will be able to take part in informal discussions about jobs.
  • You will be able to identify the main points and ideas in job ads.
  • You will be able to recognise, understand and use key vocabulary on the topic of employment.
