This course is designed to help the learners to have a good understanding of British culture, history, traditions, laws, and customs. We will help you to reach this understanding and feel confident about living in the UK. And also the expectations that living and working in the UK can offer. The fundamental principles of British Life including: democracy, the rule of law, and individual liberty. Also the beliefs and participation in community life.

This course is for the residents of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough only.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for improvers
- Before you can join this course you will need to talk to a member of staff and do an initial assessment to make sure the course is right for you. Please call the Student Support Team on 0300 303 3464
- To complete this course you will be required to complete a placement. This will be discussed with you at initial assessment.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Have a greater understanding and knowledge of British history, culture, law, and your role in society.
- Increase your ability to use the English language and be comfortable with facts, news, and up-to-date information relating to life in the UK.
- Confidently discuss a variety of citizenship topics.
- Identify how your course has benefited you, and the wider community and helps you access work, career goals, and additional opportunities.
- Identify how to become a good citizen.
