Course aim
An Introduction to working in the retail sector, for those who are new to retail or returning to working in the sector after a period of absence.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify key skills, abilities and knowledge form life, work and education that will help you to gain employment in the retail sector.
- Identify the different elements of customer service and understand what great customer service means.
- Understand the sales process from product knowledge to counter sales and cash handling.
- Understand how to manage stock: process goods, date and temperature, stock rotation and pricing.
- Retail in a COVID world: Understand the latest government guidance. How to stay safe and keep your customers safe.
What else do I need to know?
You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone (or headset) and a webcam so that you can use our video learning platform, Zoom. You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas
