For anyone interest in being part of the UK music industry. The course will explore the current environment and major trends. We will look at music scene in the UK, roles and opportunities within the business, and wider dynamics around the future shape of the music industry as a whole. You will come away with a deeper understanding and improved awareness of the potential opportunities for those who are interested in entering the industry.

Course aim

This is a brief introduction to the music industry, looking at the range of roles and opportunities within it. It is for those that have an interest in finding out more about engaging within what is a huge and idiosyncratic sector of the economy.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners
  • This course is for improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify at least three job roles within the music industry
  • Compare the UK music industry with one other country
  • Identify a preferred job role
  • Describe at least three activities involved in a preferred job role
