Pieter Bruegel: Satirist, Realist, Renaissance Man

Ref: C2228478

Pieter Bruegel's painting has a Shakespearian breadth. Far more than being merely a painter of amusing scenes of peasant life, Bruegel knew and understood the ambitions of kings, the glories of nature and the tragic limitations of humanity. Through his work we can witness the birth of the culture world we still inhabit today
