Existentialism

Ref: C2228322

Commonly associated with the café culture of post-war Paris, existentialism covers a broad range of ideas and figures. We will discuss the work of a number of philosophical and literary authors (including, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Beauvoir, Dostoevsky, Kafka, Camus, and Sartre) who are central to an understanding of existentialism and its main themes - the 'death of God', the nature of the self, dread, freedom, conformity, authenticity, and death.
