Life as we know it on earth would not be possible without carbon. Living things get most of the carbon they need from the carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. This course will explore some features of carbon chemistry that make this possible and why human activity is affecting the environmental balance.
Course aim
This taster session will introduce the importance of carbon to all living things. It will look at how carbon moves through the environment and develop confidence in using the online tools available.

How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
