By studying the history of opposition to fascist movements in Britain this course will inform discussions of the movements opposing racism and fascism across Europe today
Course aim
This course will examine the history of the movements that have opposed fascism in Britain; from Oswald Mosley and the British Union of Fascists in the 1930's, to the National Front and the BNP more recently.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Discuss responses to Mosley and the BUF
- Discuss the anti fascism of the Anti Nazi League
- Discuss opposition to racism and fascism today
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- Not a series of formal lectures, the course is taught mainly through group discussion and exploration of the topic following a tutor presentation

- Ongoing tutor feedback, online feedback, mid term review of learning
