Why do some people sail through difficult problems while others run aground? Resilience is a set of skills and practices which can be learnt and developed. At this taster workshop you will learn about the 10 key skills and work out your own plan to navigate challenges from now on!

Course aim

Resilience is a set of skills and practices which can be learnt and developed. At this taster workshop you will learn about the 10 key skills and work out your own plan to navigate life challenges.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Practice new habits to build my emotional resilience
  • Recognise when I need to take care of my emotions
  • Recognise triggers that can affect my wellbeing

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
  • This is a taster session and will invite participants to explore the topics further, including possibly registering for the ongoing course

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • participants will have the opportunity to share questions and experience with the group and receive feedback, but this is not compulsory

What else do I need to know?

  • An open mind and a willingness to listen to others and, if appropriate, share your own ideas

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
