Life Drawing

Ref: C3126322

Drawing is one of the fundamentals of art practice. Using drawing to portray the nude human form has been a way to develop skills for hundreds of years. The aim of this course is to develop these drawing skills with particular emphasis on line, while working from direct observation of the unclothed figure. Poses will vary from week to week, with some being short poses for quick sketches and some longer poses for more detailed drawing. Learners will be provided with guidance on the expressive use of line, of measuring and proportions, of how a contoured line can express an effect of 3D form, of hatching and cross hatching and of exploring colour with line. Tuition will be provided by an experienced, friendly tutor, making this course suitable for the absolute beginner. More experienced students, who wish to work in their own way but with tutor support where needed, will also be made very welcome.
