North American Indians in the 20th Century

Ref: C2338789

Native American Indians endured a tumultuous time in the twentieth century. They achieved citizenship but this was a double edged sword and they not all the tribes wanted this. The New Deal and the Meriam Report affected their way of life. The termination policy which was pursued by the government and then abolished had some profound effects. Red Power developed and was influential for tribes from the1960s onwards. These events will be examined to provide an understanding of how Native American Indians fit into the mosaic of the United States of America.
