The Role of Location Drawing in Art

Ref: C2224377

Looking at range of male and women European artists like Constable, Angelica Kauffman, Barbara Hepworth, and Graham Sutherland, the course examines the position of drawing on location in art and compares it with studio based pieces. We will look at the artists' working methods, studies, and artworks along with some context to their work. Starting with the sketchbooks of Old Masters we progress through the centuries and discuss the value of these artists working outside their studios whilst comparing them to studio based artists.
