Income Related Benefits

You may not have to pay the tuition fee if you can provide evidence that you are receiving any of the following benefits. (Where they apply, you may still have to pay for any accreditation or other fees.)

  1. Job Seeker's Allowance income or contribution based: letter stating entitlement from Job Centre Plus and you must provide your NI Number
  2. Employment and Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity Group: letter stating entitlement from Job Centre Plus and you must provide your NI Number
  3. Council Tax Benefit: council tax bill or letter stating entitlement from your local council
  4. Working Tax Credit: award notice from HM Revenue & Customs (household income under £15,276)
  5. Income Support: letter stating entitlement from Job Centre Plus
  6. Housing Benefit: letter stating entitlement from Housing Department
  7. Pension Guarantee Credit only: pension credit award notice from the Department for Work and Pension
  8. Asylum Seeker: show Application Registration Card, Standard Acknowledgment Letter, or other evidence that your case is still under review and most recent post office receipt for Asylum Support
  9. Unwaged dependant (as defined by Job Centre Plus) of someone on one the above

NB If you are not in receipt of any of the above income related benefits but your household income is below £15,276, you may still be eligible for some support with tuition and accreditation or other fees. You will need to contact your Regional Office.
